Abstract:
This Final Project aims to demostrate the reality of climate refugees, people who as a result of climatic variations, are forced to make transboundary movements in order to enjoy a better life. Climate change is the main cause of this problem, a phenomenon that leads terrible social, political and economic consequences, with devastating effects in relation to food production, human health and promotes the extinction of animal species, or even causing disappearance of islands / countries by sea level rise, and as studies indicate, leads to a chaotic situation unprecedented, mainly by human activity. In addition, an archaic and unstable legal system is added, which leads the insecurity and uncertainty caused by a refugee concept in which there is no place for people who are forced to cross borders to avoid the deterioration of the environment, all forces to ask for a review and adaptation of this definition, in order to fill a gap in international that provide minimal necessary protection of climate refugees.
