Zn catalysts for the reaction of cycloadition of CO2 and epoxides

    Abstract:
    A new zinc complexes with N4-donor macrociclic ligands has been prepared and characterized. We report also the synthesis optimization of a complex based on stable and easy-to-handle 2,9-bis(imino)-1,10-phenanthronyl ligands. These complexes are active catalysts for the cycloaddition of CO2 and 1,2-epoxyhexane, affording epoxide conversions up to 94 % with yields up to 66 %.
