Analysis of the business sector of the municipality of Tarragona

Abstract:
This analysis project describes the financial, economic and results of the commercial companies with registered office in the municipality of Tarragona based on the data of their annual accounts closed in 2015 extracted from the database System of Analysis of Iberian Balances (SABI). More specifically, it is firstly carried out an analysis of the socio-economic situation of the municipality by analyzing the evolution of population, unemployment, gross domestic product and gross value added. The analysis of the business fabric describes the group of companies with registered offices in Tarragona classified by size and activity sectors, and explaining the turnover figures. In addition to analyzing the economic and financial situation through ratios and statistical tools of the income statement and the equity structure of companies. The specific aspects analyzed for each of the groupings (sector and size) are: total assets, solvency, liquidity, profitability, and economic margin.
