The impact of secondary airports on tourism in the Mediterranean arch : the cases of Girona , Reus and San Javier

Abstract:
This study analyses three secondary Spanish airports situated in the Mediterranean arch. We have seen the renaissance of intermediate cities as a tourist points. In this project we analysed in detail the fundamental paper of Girona, Reus and San Javier airports in the different tourist brands (Brava Coast, Golden Coast and Calida Coast). This is intended to observe specialisation of the secondary airports with the low cost airlines and how are influenced by this regions. The issue arises from the importance of the tourist sector in Spain where the airports studied are the main “entry before” for his tourist brands. Hence the importance to analyse the traffic of passengers in each airport and the behaviour or Ryanair as a predominant airline.
