The obtaining of monoclonal antibody anti Galectin-1

    Abstract:
    This project exposes the obtaining process of a human anti Galectin-1 monoclonal antibodies throughout the immunization with human Galectin-1 a mouse knockout in Galectin-1. The immunized rodent will produce anti Galectin-1 antibodies with blocked capacity of the biological functions that produces the protein in a tumour microenvironment, such as: the induction of the thymocites apoptosis and a vascularisation increase of the tumour. The monoclonal antibody obtaining process is long, and therefore, the final stage will be exposed in this project where they have been carried out ELISA tests to be able to see the antibody specificity against the protein (Galectin-1) and in vitro functional studies to prove the antibody efficacy to block human and mouse Galectin-1.
