    Abstract:
    This project is the result of co-operation with Ecopol Tech S.L. industry together with the Faculty of Chemistry at Universitat Rovira i Virgili. In the coating division of the company Ecopol Tech S.L.,several polymers of fatty chains, cationic in nature and with external cross linking agents incorporated in the chain, have been developed. This product is used as a surface coating in which an improvement in properties is desired, such as hydrophobic and oleophobic. This work is divided into two parts. In the first part, the synthesis reaction of a cationic polyurethane dispersion has been studied. The second part of this work deals with the modification of the polymers to add or improve the present properties. Once the products are synthesized, they will be characterized using different techniques and the properties and characteristics obtained will be evaluated by making applications, comparing the results obtained between the initial product and its modifications.
