    Abstract:
    This is a study on the possibility of recognition of subjective rights to animals, divided into three different sections: the first presents a list of the different historical background of the relationship of human to non-human animals, emphasizing the importance of certain conceptions and historical moments that are vitally important to understand the current situation; the second is biological, ethical and legal arguments from which animal can be considered equal; the third and last is a compendium of ethical and legal justifications to finish assessing the specific issue of animal rights.
