Telomerization of isoprene catalyzed by Pd. Synthesis of derivatives.

    Abstract:
    New, more active and selective Pd-catalytic systems for telomerization of symmetric and non-symmetric dienes were recently developed by the Sincat-CTQC group. Telomerization of non-symmetric dienes is much more complex than the telomerization of symmetric dienes because many structural isomers can be obtained. Research carried out at the Sincat-CTQC group recently demonstrated that high selectivity to the formation of specific isoprene derived telomers by the use appropriate catalytic systems (Pd precursor and ligand combination) and reactions conditions (Pd concentration, Pd/L ratio, solvent and temperature). These findings are very important because these telomers can be used to produce terpenoids in a more straightforward and more sustainable approaches involving catalysis.
