    Abstract:
Introduction: The pelvic floor is a group of muscles, ligaments and fascia which close the bottom of the pelvis, which have an important function in human sexuality. This body zone can be damaged resulting in sexual dysfunction. Nowadays, between 30-45% of women suffer from some type of sexual dysfunction; those are classified, according to the diagnostic manual DSM-IV TR, sexual desire disorder, sexual arousal disorder, orgasm disorders, the sexual pain disorders, and disorders due to medical or substance-induced illness. Some of the means to prevent and treat those sexual dysfunctions are physiotherapy and sex education. Aim: The principal aim of this study was to assess whether women with more sex education had better sexual function and also to observe the impact of an educational intervention on a group of women.
