    Abstract:
The current society presents a rate of acceleration and vertigo increasingly evident. Sport does not escape from this obsession to overcome all the limits that have existed and it is one of the most evident examples of this non-stop society evolution. The assignment that you have in your hands is a project that collects the voices of eight authorized testimonies (athletes, journalists, doctors, psychologists and experts), the complexity of a phenomenon that transcends the sport’s limits. The social background that hides and encourages the use and consumption of doping products, the expectations and symbolism of the world of sports in the Spanish population, the role and responsibility of the media, the limits and risks for the human health or their future. Citius, altius, fortius? aims to open the debate on the transformation of sports romanticism in the current sports industry, and delves into one of the most deep-rooted and darkest social taboos. Neither the phenomenon of doping nor the world of sports can be analyzed from different parameters to those of society and psychology. It is time to rethink whether the Roman maxim - and still the Olympic slogan - of the 'fastest, highest and strongest' still remains valid in the 21st century context.
