Abstract:
Objective: Knowing the main interventions on sexual education in order to prevent risk behaviours in adolescents. The specific objectives are to analyze the results of educational activities related to adolescent sexual health, as well as to synthesize the different educational interventions that have been developed in order to prevent sexual risk behaviours. Methodology: Bibliographic review of rigorously selected research articles, by means of previous structured search carried out throughout several online scientific databases, such as PubMed, Cinahl, Cuiden, Scopus and Google Scholar. Results: 10 bibliographical references which met the initially proposed criteria were selected. Health interventions related to sexuality in adolescents had been carried out in all of them, in order to prevent sexual risk behaviours. Conclusion: Educational interventions to prevent risk behaviours in sexual education which are taught at early ages, have exponentially improved the knowledge of the adolescents taking part in different programmes in all cases. For this reason, it is determined that the advantages of educational interventions on sexuality learnt in the school context, are hopeful in our struggle for the prevention and eradication of sexually-transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies in adolescents. Nursing is the most relevant healthcare staff when it comes to carrying out educational interventions successfully and providing prevention related to sexuality, as it is present in most of the interventions carried out, either individually or jointly with other health professionals.
