Green Bonds evolution: A comparative study (2008-2019)

    Abstract:
    The green economy is a responsible economic model with the environment that is presented as a viable model to fight against the climate change. Great financing is needed in order to achieve this economy, the so-called green financing. The green bonds are, for the moment, the most efficient product to carry out this financing. The rise of the market has been fast. This rise has been driven by different published guidelines. These guidelines have guided both investors and issuers. The most important turning point was the publication of the Green Bond Principle, which have served as the basis for the majority of taxonomies and standards that have been published since then. The comparative analysis conclude green bond market have characteristics very similar to those of Treasury bond market. These similitudes have been accentuated with the passage of time. The next step would have to be develop others green financial products with the example of the green bond market.
