Abstract:
Introduction: The consumption of alcohol among women has augmented on progressive form and featuring at the last years, fact that supposes a main numeral of cases of Fetal Alcoholic Syndrome, which consists in the cause no genetics more frequent of mental delay and malformations, producing anomalies at the fetal development with the detail that this sickness is totally avoidable. Aims: Meet the criteria diagnostics of the FAS, how lives it the family and transfer at the community to achieve an early diagnosis and eschew adverse effects. Methodology: We have done three studies, bibliographic review on the FAS, observational descriptive transversal digital study by means of a survey at the familiar of children with FAS and an interview at the founders of the association. Results: The results has been obtained by three metogologic studies we used. We obtain a sample of 60 families with 23 questions, 18 pertinent of the association SAF Group and 42 of AFASAF. The diagnosis of FAS at present, arrives at the 11 years, but the 15% of the respondents still does not have a diagnostic although they noted odd behaviours around the 4 years. The most frequent symptoms are the delay at the growth, microcephaly, sensibility at loud rumbles, groove between the nose and the mouth flattened and small lengthened eyes, although the 50% of the families who take part in the survey did not note any removed facial characteristic of the FAS of the children. Also, they refer being neglected, present difficulties at the school, has problems at memorizing, realize actions and at the social relations. There is not treatment to recover, but it has to be individualized to reduce the symptomatology associated and the familiar charge. Conclusions: In our country there is not sufficient investigations and the population and the professionals don’t have the necessary knowledge on what supposes FAS. We have to fight to achieve an early diagnosis and promote the abstinence during pregnancy.
