Abstract:
The 1708 team of consulting firm Gras consulting S.L. has commissioned the design project of a propane propylene splitter to a heat pump system. For this reason, a bibliographic research of this technology and other alternatives has been carried out in order to carry out a study which has been able to determine which of these is the most convenient without leaving the specifications clear of the client. The process has been simulated in ASPEN to extract the balance of matter and energy, and once optimized the BCD, the PFD and P & ID has been carried out. The basic engineering of the splitter with steam compression was carried out at this time, including the design of the following equipment: distillation column, compressor, reboiler thermosiphon, reflux drum, pump and exchangers. Also the specifications of the equipment, list of lines and equipment, instrumentation and control systems. The detail engineering has been carried out in parallel, which includes advanced control systems, mechanical equipment design, team shoe design, local and panel instrumentation, unifilar and isometric diagrams. The operation, security, environmental and maintenance manuals have been prepared, in order to ensure the proper functioning of the plant and to avoid risks for society and the environment. Finally, an economic study has been presented presenting the values of Payout, VAN and TIR as well as a sensitivity analysis, in order to ensure that the project is economically viable.
