    Abstract:
During the study of the process control architecture of the CCP Asfaltos Tarragona factory, the documentation of the control loops and a subsequent screen optimisation have been made, as well as improvement proposals for the processes carried out at the plant. To ease the information contained in the control system of the plant so that it can be consulted by its workers, its documentation has been made for each of the control loops. A conceptual description was elaborated including the signals, the alarms and the security enclaves, specifying the type of all these. Subsequently, this description was incorporated into the control system to facilitate its access from any control panel that the plant has. In addition, the cause-effect matrices of the factory were made to clearly compress all the existing safety interlocks. Secondly, an update of the control panel display was made by standardizing representative objects of the equipment and instruments of the plant. In addition, the logic available in the Control Builder has been incorporated into the Display, improving the information available to the operator. On the other hand, new screens have been created to improve operability by means of an optimized visualization of the plant processes. Lastly, as a result of the documentation process of the control logic, improvement proposals have been prepared regarding the processes carried out at the plant. These include a conceptual narrative of the improvement in addition to its location in the plans of the factory and the diagrams with new control logic implemented, if necessary. In addition, an economic study of one of the improvement proposals has been carried out to quantify both the necessary investment and the return period.
