    Abstract:
The anti-cluster TergitolTM is an additive that is added to the pellet cooling water in order to control the correct formation of pellets in the fabrication of polyethylene and polypropylene (products that are manufactured in Dow Tarragona). Having a more precise knowledge of the concentration of anti-cluster in the pellet cooling water, will allow to have a better control of the process and reduce costs adjusting more adequate the concentration of the additive in the production process. Therefore, the need to implement a method for the analysis of anti-cluster in pellet cooling water in the company was high, given that the present method for the determination of this additive was indirectly (using the analysis of turbidity in the samples). The project consisted of the optimization and subsequent validation of a method to be able to analyze accurately and precisely, the concentration of anti-cluster in samples of pellet cooling water by means of a potentiometric evaluation.
