Carrying out an Environmental Impact Study: Project to extend the Balearic wharf to the Port of Tarragona

Abstract:
The city of Tarragona has one of the most important ports in the Mediterranean Sea basin, and therefore it also becomes one of the most important ports in Catalonia and Spain, thus becoming an element of great importance and importance in the territory. Given this situation, the Port is experiencing growth thanks to which it is planned to carry out the expansion discussed in this work. This expansion will generate a series of environmental impacts on the environment, which will be analyzed and evaluated from the point of view that environmental impact studies are an essential support element in the sustainable development of the environment. The main objective is to carry out an environmental impact study related to the Balearic dock expansion project. The work is structured in the following sections: - Introduction - Theoretical framework - Description of the medium - Environment Effect investigation - Conclusions The introduction and the theoretical framework are based on the search for bibliography related to environmental impact studies. The description of the environment develops in detail the different elements that make up the territorial area studied. The environmental impact study is focused on the development of this study through the methods explained in the section in question. Carrying out the work has also required field work visits and electronic consultations in official bodies as well as interviews with people related to the field of study.
