    Abstract:
Economics and politics have always gone hand in hand, and their relationship has led to the birth of economic policy. This relationship is manifested in the fact that any decision of economic or political significance will have consequences on the social organization of the people subject to an economic system. The influence of these decisions will be reflected in the different economic aggregates. The citizens, based on the results obtained by the government's decisions, will choose whether to support the government with their vote for the results obtained. Therefore, it is necessary to study how economic results influence the political process. To see if reality corresponds to economic theory or we must readjust it. In this specific study I am going to carry out two regression analyses for Spain in its democratic period. Specifically, I will try to explain the electoral support to the ruling party based on the economic results. On the other hand, I will carry out the same process for the parliamentary fragmentation. Where I will make such analyses under the theoretical support of the electoralist theory. Once this is done I will make an analysis of the temporal evolution of the political indicators proposed and of the economic ones present in the electoralist theory. Next, I will make a correlation analysis with the political results to deepen the understanding of the observed data. The final aim will be to prove if the electoralist theory is fulfilled for Spain. Although secondarily I will try to explain economically those results which are out of the proposed theoretical framework.
