Recurrence of breast cancer after surgical treatment

    Abstract:
    ABSTRACTIntroduction:Breast cancer is a disease that produces an alteration in themammary cells. As a consequence, an uncontrolled growth of these occurs causing a tumor in the breast. It is the main cause of death among women. Despite the progress in the treatment of this disease, there is a high recurrence rate and various factors that affect its occurrence.Objective:Carry out a bibliographic search to determine the recurrence rate of breast cancer after surgery and to evaluate the actions with the greatest margin of success in the cure process.Methodology: A bibliographic review was carried out. The search for information was carried out through the PubMed and Scielo databases.Results: Eight articles were analyzed and the different opinions and results in the choice of treatment for breast cancer and its recurrence rate were observed.Conclusion:It is concluded that there is no specific treatment to deal with breast cancer. Interventions must be individualized to each subject and case. These results help us to adapt the treatment.KEY WORDS:"Breast cancer", "recurrence" and "mastectomy"
