Abstract:
ABSTRACTIntroduction:Celiac disease is an autoinmunedigestive disease that affects the wholebody if it is not detected and if patients don’t start with the treatment. The only treatment is the gluten-free diet and it affects all genetically predisposed individuals. It is estimated to affect about 1% of the population but it is thought to be underdiagnosed as many patients have no symptoms. Objectives:To identify the experiences and experiences of celiac patients and their families, as well as the factors that influence diet adherence and quality of life.Methodology:Systematic review of the scientific literature on the subject raised through the following databases: Cinahl, PubMed, Scielo and Google Academic. The inclusion criteria were studies published between 2015 and 2020, English or Spanish text, study population <18 years, access to full text and articles that fulfilled more than 70% of the questionnaires in the list CASPe review. Results:A total of 10 articles were included, of which 3 are qualitative and quantitative in nature, all of which were reviewed and with a level of evidence >7 in the CASPe list. Coeliac disease involves changes in the patient’s life, especially when it comes to social relations with others and the main complication is the adherence to the diet.Conclusions:We must continue working at the dissemination of knowledge about the disease and reduce the stigmas. In this way, the adherence to the diet would be easier. As future lines of research, the find out of the exact function of nurses in chronic diseases and how to improve it.Key words: celiac disease, quality oflife, experience, nursing.
