    Abstract:
The present final degree project intends to detail the figure of the woman through the analysis of different plays of Spain’s Golden Age starting from a play taken like manual at the time, La perfecta casada by fray Luis. In order to carry out this analysis, we first introduce the situation of women in literature and their social role in the golden age, in which the reading and extraction of the different types of women that appear in La perfecta casada by fray Luis plays a very important role, and secondly we specify the results obtained from the reading and analysis of the fifteen plays that form the corpus of the project (plays that belong to six authors and three different points of view: Lope de Vega, Tirso de Molina and four women dramatists). Ultimately, to the work guidelines obtained of the first analysis we apply the different results obtained of the second: we classify the different types of women that we can find in Spanish Golden Age theatre and we exemplify them. From this analysis of 35 female characters we extract generalizations of the figure of women in the golden theater and we use them as a contrast in the final conclusions.
