    Abstract:
The main objective of this article is to analyze the benefits of hippotherapy as a complementary therapy in people diagnosed with ASD and to clarify and classify these benefits. Our analysis focuses on children aged 3 and 4 years, students of a special education school in the province of Tarragona. The analysis has been carried out following both qualitative methodologies (by means of observation and interviewing) and quantitative methodologies (by searching for statistical data, which have been subsequently verified). As a main conclusion, we highlight hippotherapy that is beneficial as a complementary therapy in people who have been diagnosed with autism, resulting in this practice being a tool to exploit abilities, especially communication and motor skills.
