    Abstract:
In this project, it’s done the determination of 21 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in air samples from Tarragona harbour using PM10 particulate matter filters. Pressurized fluid extraction (PLE) and gas chromatography coupled to a mass spectrometer (GC-MS) are used for the analysis of the samples. The concentrations obtained from the 21 PAHs range from 0.01 ng/m3 to 8.93 ng/m3, the most abundant compounds are pyrene, fluoranthene, chrysene, benzo(b)fluoranthene, and benzo(g,h,i)perylene, all with concentrations abocve 3 ng/m3. The concentrations obtained by benzo(a)pyrene, the only PAH that is regulated, range from 0.001 ng/m3 to 0.383 ng/m3.
