Abstract:
This work has been carried out with the purpose of knowing and understanding in depth one of the of Family Law’s institutions, the promise of marriage, and to find out how it is still in force in our legal system, at present, something that may seem to us of other times. What is the promise of reciprocal marriage, how is it constituted, what are its requirements, how is it extinguished, what legal effects does it have and what happens in the event of a breach of the promise, are some of the questions that are raised throughout this work.
