PALLIATIVE CARE: SPIRITUAL AND PSYCHOSOCIAL INTERVENTION IN THE TERMINAL PHASE OF LIFE

    Abstract:
    This article aims to reflect upon the terminal phase of the life and the possible actions of intervention which can be performed from the health social work and community of professionals involved in this stage, all of them have the goal of improving the life quality of the terminally ill. We review the possible actions to ensure the right of every citizen to receive comprehensive care that covers all areas of the patient, as well as receive psychosocial and the appropriate spiritual care in relation to this phase of the life process. Considering the National Strategy on palliative care and the deployment of the rules of resources and interventions provided for at the state level, will be assessed the potential and shortcomings in the development of comprehensive care for all dimensions in the terminal phase of life in relation to the rights inherent to the patient.
