    Abstract:
Abstract: - Objective: Describe the preventives measures about the pneumonia ventilator-associated, through the revision of the scientific literature, regarding the oral care and the pressure cuff maintenance. - Method: Review, using the date bases Cinahl, PubMed, Cuiden plus, Cuidatge and Dialnet, the search tool Icercador plus, and the publishing portal Elsevier. Data analysis was performed by categorizing the information founded, carrying out its analysis and description in the results subsequently. - Results: After the search, were obtained 17 articles that met the inclusion criteria. Referring to neumotaponamiento maintenance, the most prevalent line of investigation is about the possible benefits of continuous monitoring of cuff pressure and frequency variation for this measurement, in order to maintain this pressure within the limits as therapeutic. - Conclusions: This study shows the importance of influencing in the optimal implementation and realization of preventive measures of pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation. Foreground the need to consensus and unify the different steps in each care, taking into account the scientific evidence obtained so far in each of them.
