The seeing eye. The guide dog as a resource

  • Identification data

    Identifier:  TFG:489
    Authors:  Recasens Pujol, Jordina
    Abstract:
The guide dog is considered to be a personal mobility tool for people with visual, auditory or physical disabilities, autism or other specific illnesses. In this report we will focus on the guide dog for people with visual impairment. And we will see that, although they are considered as a resource that improves the life of the people that need them, getting one is not so easy because the volume of demand is bigger than the number of guide dogs that are provided and also due to other factors that will be debated in this report. With a descriptive qualitative method set up through other authors and affected people’s opinion and a personal reflection, I will do an analysis of what the guide dogs users encounter when they try to get this tool. And at the same time, I will consider this resource in order to know how it could be improved.
