    Abstract:
Professional identity (hereafter PI) is a key and relevant element that helps to develop strengths in order to be able to carry out personal challenges in working life. This concept is related to academic studies, especially university studies. In this work, we explore the possible development of the professional identity of students at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, hereinafter URV, through external internships and whether there are differences depending on the modality and scope of these. This research work focuses on the following question: Do external placements help the development of the IP? As a result of this question, a general objective and two subobjectives or specific objectives will emerge.
