    Abstract:
Tourism destination websites play a key role in the planning, promotion, and experience of tourists. Destinations that are not accessible can exclude people with disabilities from participating in tourism activities. In this dissertation, we carried out a quantitative and qualitative study to evaluate the accessibility of the tourism websites of Catalan smart destinations. By web accessibility, we refer to ensuring that all people, regardless of their physical or mental limitations, can access the content and use all the functions available on a website. The online portals of ten locations are the subject of an empirical study. In this study, accessibility is analysed manually and automatically using the Harvard University revision recommendations guide and the WAVE tool. The WCAG 2.1 web content accessibility criteria are verified on each page.
