Abstract:
Alter the elections of 1936, which gave an adjusted victory to the Fente Popular, the social and political discomfort was growing. On one side we find, as expected, the disappointment of the right wing in front of the new republican government of Azaña. The opposition manifested constantly and publically the disagreement with the politics carried out. The spring of the 34 was marked by the strong social disorder in the Spanish streets caused by the discontent of a part of the right wing and also by the demands of the left more radical wing. But the problems of the Republic didn’t end here. The Church, the most influent element in the Spanish society, didn’t see with good eyes the Republic, because it had the purpose of end the privileges of the Church itself. However, we can’t conclude that the Church was involved in the conspiracy that caused the end of the Republic in a direct way, but we do can state that some ecclesiastics knew what was up to, and once the rise up started the religious didn’t doubt on join the cause and saw it with please. We have to point out that the rise up was carried out by the Spanish military, ordered by the General Mola, with the support of the names so relevant to the Spanish history as was the General Franco. That rebellion was motivated by various aspects analyzed in the project. Likewise, it’s analyzed too the international support that could help the army conspiracy. Finally, we have to point out the clumsiness that had the government in charge at the time of taking care of the coup d’état. Numerous where the signs and warnings that various political charges, and by the UMRA, of what was coming, but Casares Quiroga, paid no attention to those warnings, giving place in the July of 1939 to the rise up, or “Levantamiento”.
