    Abstract:
    Abstract Objective: The general objective is to know the experiences, perceptions and emotions of people diagnosed with cancer in stage III or IV. Materials and Methods: a descriptive study of the qualitative type of phenomenological design. Two semi-structured interviews of approximated 45 minutes were made to cancer patients in stage IIIB and IV. Results: The results showed that patients learn to live with a disease which affects their quality of life, their emotions and their family and social environment. It also changes their perception of the future and death. Conclusions: The diagnosis of cancer in an already advanced stage of the disease causes a major impact on the physical, emotional and social level.
