    Abstract:
This thesis explores the role of polygenic risk in anorexia nervosa (AN) by examining genetic associations with diagnosis, heritability, and clinical heterogeneity. Using polygenic risk scores (PRS), the study analyzes both case-control and parent-offspring trio data. Significant links were found between specific PRSs and AN-related traits, including personality and metabolic factors. Enrichment analyses revealed shared biological pathways, particularly in neurodevelopment. These findings support the complex genetic architecture of AN and suggest that PRS may inform future risk prediction and personalized approaches in clinical settings.
