    Abstract:
The increasing levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in the atmosphere and the emerging worldwide energy crisis represent key challenges for modern society. These problems have prompted the research of new methods to transform CO2 back to fuels and value-added chemicals, arising the electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) powered by renewable energy sources as an attractive sustainable approach. Among the plethora of transition metal-based catalytic systems, copper (Cu)-based nanocatalyst present a unique capability to promote the CO2RR into multicarbon C2+ products. In this work, copper-based hybrid molecular-heterogeneous materials were developed and used as a catalyst to tune the CO2RR selectivity.
