    Abstract:
Infertility is a health problem on rise. Intake of omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) improves semen and embryo quality among infertile patients. The aim of this review was to identify the potential benefits of PUFAs in patients with conditions related to infertility. Randomized clinical trials were analyzed. The full texts of 9 articles were included. An improvement in sperm count, concentration, motility, and morphology was observed; however, it was not significant. Serum concentrations of PUFAs, ratio of follicle / retrieved oocyte, injected oocytes and fertilization rate were increased, as well as a significant improvement in embryo quality and pregnancy outcomes.
