Frontal Assessment Battery: Reliability, Validity and Discriminative Ability in Alzheimer's Disease Spectrum

    Abstract:
This study evaluates the psychometric properties of the Frontal Assessment Battery (FAB) in a sample of Spanish patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) and Alzheimer's disease (AD). The FAB showed moderate reliability and good concurrent validity, except for the Prehension behaviour subtest. It also demonstrated good discriminative ability between healthy and aMCI subjects. However, the total score and subtests of the FAB did not discriminate between aMCI and AD subjects, except for the Go/No-Go subtest, which showed some discriminative ability. These results suggest that the FAB is a reliable tool for assessing executive function in AD patients.
