  • Identification data

    Identifier:  TFM:2068
    Authors:  Klermyr, Emelie
    Abstract:
This study examines how film and television influence tourism intentions among Millennials and Generation Z. Focusing on emotional connection, visual appeal, and media exposure, it explores concepts such as the tourist gaze, place attachment, and push–pull motivation. A survey of 163 respondents from Sweden, Spain, and other countries revealed that one-third had visited one. Results showed visual appeal as the strongest motivator for wanting to visit a filming location, followed by emotional ties to storylines and characters. Results confirm that screen media can shape tourism demand, providing valuable insights for destination marketing strategies.
