    Abstract: The main objective of my master project is to equip cyclic carbonate monomers with an azobenzene moiety and evaluate this monomer towards anionic ROP. I will focus on azobenzene fragments that can be introduced in the polymer architecture, and the molecular weight (Mn) and dispersity (Ð) of the synthesized polymers. Furthermore, attempts will be made to photo-isomerize the azobenzene units in the envisioned polycarbonate with the aim of inducing reversible changes of its thermal and mechanical behavior, which will be studied by DSC, TGA, NMR, and UV-vis spectroscopy.
