The Implementation of Communicative Language Teaching: Enhancing Confidence and Speaking Skills in English

    Abstract:
    This Master's thesis presents a qualitative case study on the impact of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) on oral skills and confidence in a 4th-year CSE English class. The study addresses students’ limited speaking opportunities and emotional barriers. A five-session CLT-based intervention focused on identity, values and critical thinking. Data from questionnaires, interviews, observations and exit tickets were analyzed with Atlas.ti. Results showed improved oral participation, especially in confidence and fluency. The study highlights the benefits of real communication and cooperative work, concluding that CLT fosters both linguistic and emotional development, and suggests potential for further research.
