Abstract: The work deepens within the framework of planning and management instruments that develop landscape‐related issues in the territory of Catalonia. In this sense, it is a professional profile work that analyses the current documents that we currently have in Catalonia and ends up proposing the development of a Landscape Plan applied to the characteristics of the landscape unit of Plana de l’Alt Camp. Consequently, the general purpose of the work focuses on the need to translate the recommendations established by the landscape catalogues into mandatory guidelines to guarantee the preservation, management and planning of the landscape as urban planning instruments do. The object of the project arises from the need to develop and apply landscape policies at local and regional level. Currently, the only instrument promoted by the Landscape Law on a regional scale are the Landscape Charts, which are voluntary and with a component of agreement and achievement of agreements, which end up becoming true landscape strategies between municipalities. Despite the wide range of documents that we have in Catalonia in relation to the landscape, only two partial territorial plans incorporate binding landscape guidelines in urban planning. Consequently, the need to promote the development of landscape planning instruments that link normatively the characteristics collected by the catalogues and landscape charts, in the corresponding urban processing, in order to link future implementations and actions in the landscape in landscape strategies of a regional nature, since landscape does not follow municipal administrative boundaries. Actions are defined by the landscape quality objectives of the landscape unit and different alternatives are proposed to be able to analyse and act in the territory in a coherent way, linking urban planning and landscape planning. The final result is not understood as a finished work, the landscape is a dynamic field and it is always subjected to interpretations and adaptations depending on the intrinsic factors of each territory. For this reason, specific actions and a regulatory mechanism of the new implementations are proposed and also recommendations that can be adapted to the different areas of Catalonia.
