Wiimote hack

  • Identification data

    Identifier:  PFC:39
    Authors:  Bonache Samaniego, Ricardo
    Abstract:
The objective of this project is to convert the image projected from a computer into a digital interactive whiteboard, using low-cost items. To do this, use two controls of the Nintendo Wii system, called Wiimote. The controls are the position sensors feature an infrared pointer. Using the software developed to interpret the information transmitted by the Wiimote and the computer sends the cursor to the position where the user has placed the pointer. The user controls the cursor movement through the use of the pointer, allowing among other things to write or draw on top of the projection. Two controls are used to reduce the areas where one would not see the pointer control. These areas appear to put a person in front of the controls. The final solution obtained provides a much lower cost than currently marketed products.
