Resumen:
The research carried out in this thesis aims to determine which method of grammar teaching and learning is the most effective in the classroom and brings the best results. The determination of the most effective grammar method is based on the premise that its application in the Cameroonian ELE teaching and learning context can help to solve the multiple problems that this context suffers from, especially the high failure rate. To determine the most effective grammar method, we conducted an experiment which consisted in comparing the results of two groups of students obtained during a didactic intervention where we taught them using different methods. The grammatical content chosen to carry out this research is the verb tense agreement which, from a historical and linguistic point of view, is one of those studied by applying different methods. The instruments used to obtain the data were: a pretest to determine the students' initial level of knowledge, a posttest to determine their level of increase in knowledge after the didactic intervention, and a participation and satisfaction survey, which made it possible to evaluate their learning experiences both during the experiment and during their journey as learners.
