Development of a multivariant qualitative method for the detecion of adulterant in paprika

    Abstract:
    The main objective of this work has been the development and validation of a qualitative multivariate method in order to determine the adulteration in paprika with Sudan I. Well known quality parameters such as sensibility, specificity and efficiency have been used to validate the method. All the data has been obtained from UV-Vis and fluorescence. PCA and SIMCA have been modelle with 2 classes (unadulterated and 5 mg of Sudan I /g paprika). The prediction in SIMCA has been made with samples adulterated with various concentrations of Sudan I. PLS has been used due to the results in SIMCA and two methods of validation has been used (cross validation leave one out and T test).
