    Abstract:
    In this work, it has been analysed the modernization of the human resources department in a local administration. The modernization plan arises from the need of the local entity to provide a better service to citizens, first analysing the organizational structure at the HR level, restructuring fundamental pillars such as selection, while investing for new technologies. An example for this would be the FUE (Finestreta Única Empresarial) which does telematic procedures, speeds up and simplifies the processing; at the same time, eliminated the administrative barriers. I have had the pleasure to collaborate as an intern in the Department of Human Resources of the city of Reus. I can still see and work how this project is being carried out: a long process and several changes, but the changes are new challenges that society should assume in the S.XXI.
