Project for the implementation of an almond processing cooperative industry in the municipality of Gandesa

Abstract:
The aim of this project is to define the technical, economic and financial characteristics necessary for the implementation of a cooperative industry in the municipality of Gandesa (Tarragona) dedicated to the production and transformation of almonds. The regulations followed for the elaboration of the project are standard UNE 157001: 2002 General criteria for the elaboration of projects. The industry is located in the industrial park of La plana, on a plot with an area of 6.313 m2. The amount of almonds processed per season is 705,54 tons of conventional almonds and 80,84 tons of organic almonds. The varieties processed are Marcona, Largueta and Comuna from the regions of Tierra Alta, Ribera de Ebro and Bajo Ebro. These are processed industrially obtaining as final products: natural almond, peeled almond and almond flour. The building necessary to carry out the activity is made of reinforced concrete and has an area of 3.609 m2. The sanitary water installations, fire prevention installation, lighting installation and electricity installation have been designed. The temporary planning of the project has been carried out and the budget necessary for the execution has been calculated. Finally, the financial evaluation of the project has been made obtaining an NPV of €1.367.166,849 and an IRR of 11%. The project recovery term is 7 years.
