    Abstract:
Objectives: To know the level of information that elementary school teachers present about first aid before the intervention and to analyse if knowledge about first aid increases after a training intervention. Method: Quantitative, descriptive, quasi-experimental, transversal and prospective research study, aimed at teachers of primary education centers, aged between 21 years and over 56 years, of both sexes, during the 2017-2018 school year. An assessment was made by means of an ad hoc questionnaire, to know the degree of knowledge that teachers have about first aid. Also, an assessment on the degree of satisfaction of the teachers after our intervention (points to be assessed, the intervention and the authors as trainers). Results: 200 teachers were included at the beginning of the study, and we obtained a final participation of 163 teachers. The initial average obtained from the centers, was of 7'06%, and a final average of 8'41%, after the educational intervention, an increase of the knowledge can be appreciated. The ratings obtained on degree of satisfaction range from 5'44 to 5'77 (educational intervention) and from 5'84 to 6 (training person). Conclusions: The knowledge of the teachers on first aid is poor and improves considerably after the training intervention.
