  • Identification data

    Identifier:  TFG:4361
    Authors:  Cabré Beltran, Alba
    Abstract:
This project studies the transference of cultural elements in the Spanish version of Down Under: Travels in a Sunburned Country by Bill Bryson. To carry out this analysis, several taxonomies of cultural references and translation techniques have been studied and once a suitable classification was found for each of them, the culturemes in the source text have been isolated and categorized. Then they have been compared with their Spanish translations to determine which strategies and techniques have been used. Finally, the results and conclusions are presented to show which translation techniques have been used the most and why.
