Economic analysis of the celiac shopping basket: is the celiac identification card the solution to the high costs faced by celiac patients?

Abstract:
This Final Degree Thesis is based on analyzing the celiac shopping basket to determine the cost overrun compared to the ordinary basket. Considering the current inflationary situation and the consequent rise in prices, it is observed how this fact affects the celiac group, analyzing among the aids granted in the rest of European countries, the impact of a subsidy when demand is inelastic, as happens with gluten-free products. Finally, it is studied whether a direct aid such as the celiac identification card becomes the solution to this extra cost.
