Abstract: This project aims at investigating the global competence of university students and whether participating in a COIL activity or in an international mobility programme contributes to making students globally competent. The three groups of students that are analysed are (1) university students who have participated in the Erasmus programme; (2) university students who have participated in COIL; (3) and university students who have never participated in any mobility programme or any virtual exchange activities (i.e. COIL). As for the methodology, I adapted the PISA questionnaire (2018) and I sent it to university students from an English Degree in a Catalan university. The results of my study show that it is important for students to develop global competence and the exchange programmes contribute to that.
