Abstract: This paper explores the patterns in lyrics translation from English to Spanish in Disney animated movies over time. Lyrics translation can be challenging and among the most popular methods for song translation are Low's Pentathlon Principle (2003) and Franzon's Layers of Singability (2008). This study aims to determine if those methods influenced the way Disney lyrics are translated. This analysis examines three songs from The Lion King (1994) and three from Encanto (2021), based on Martí Ferriol's (2010) AVT solutions. The comparison of the average percentages obtained for each AVT solution in each film demonstrates a slight variation between the AVT solutions used.
