    Abstract:
Biological processes are regulated internally by central and peripheral clocks following cycles of 24 hours (circadian rhythms). This synchronization is mostly governed by external signals of light. The disruption of these rhythms (chronodisruption) is linked to cardiometabolic diseases. Phenolic compounds such as grape seed proanthocyanidins extract (GSPE) have shown promise in modulating these rhythms. This project aimed to study the changes produced and to assess the effects of GSPE on a chronodisrupted animal model. Chronodisrupted animals showed reduced body weight and food intake, elevated levels of plasma triglycerides, VLDL, and phospholipids. However, the administered dose of GSPE could not alleviate the circadian disruption, this study shows a novel chronodisrupted-experimental design.
